Gateway Ticketing Systems' 2008 User Group Meeting a Success

Boyertown, PA – (March, 2008) Gateway Ticketing Systems, Inc. held its 13th annual User Group Meeting at Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, CA.

The information-packed event provides a unique opportunity for Gateway customers to exchange ideas and network with Gateway staff and other Gateway users. This year’s meeting was unique in that Gateway presented a long list of enhancements made to Galaxy as a result of customer requests from the 2007 User Group Meeting.

Features and benefits of the latest product release, Galaxy 4, were the highlight of the meeting, and were covered in detail at a roundtable discussion by Gateway’s Product Development staff.

Galaxy 4 includes functionality specifically designed to help Gateway’s customers keep their guests happy. A focus on guest convenience through simplified, automated ticketing management enhances customer service, which keeps guests coming back. Other features are aimed at helping Gateway customers increase their sales with easily marketed pre-defined package combinations.

Scott Trievel, Product Development Manager at Gateway said, “With Galaxy 4 we’re providing the right solutions for customers to conduct their business efficiently. They asked for it and we delivered. It’s exciting to provide a product with the feature set Galaxy 4 has to offer.”

Assistant Product Development Manager, Carol Cross, was also at the event. She added, “We defined our new features based on what many of our customers were asking for in our last meeting. Our customers told us what they needed and we designed the feature to meet the most common requirements.”

A variety of Galaxy users also presented at the meeting, sharing how they take advantage of the features of the system to suit their needs best.

"The sessions were very informative and the opportunity for networking with other users was priceless,” said Donna Powell, Business & Administrative Services Manager of Metro Parks Tacoma. “Everyone in my group is excited about implementing little tweaks that they learned during the week and they have countless ideas for improving our systems."

Although it may sound like it was all about work, this year’s meeting left plenty of time to relax. Aquarium of the Pacific hosted a beautiful welcome reception to kick off the meeting and provided attendees with a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility. An afternoon in Disneyland provided a nice mid-week break, and those who stayed an extra day got to spend the day at the San Diego Zoo.

“Holding a User Group meeting gives us the opportunity to speak to our customers, and more importantly, to listen to them as they share their success stories,” said Michael Andre, Gateway president. “Working on the front line using Galaxy in their businesses day to day, they are the real experts. With an open exchange of ideas, we all stand to gain from each other’s knowledge and experience.”
