Gateway Ticketing Systems, Inc. was chosen for The Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s third annual Greater Reading Top 50 list.
The Greater Reading Top 50 ranks the top firms in the Berks County area in terms of revenue growth. The list, which includes software development companies, manufacturers, financial-services firms, construction companies, and accounting practices, requires a revenue threshold of a million dollars to qualify.
Gateway is currently the world leader in high-speed admission control and ticketing software for the attraction, amusement, and intercity bus transportation industries, and has experienced significant growth over the past three years. A veteran in the industry, this year the company celebrates its 20th year in business.
To make the Greater Reading Top 50 list, Gateway had to first be nominated then agree to supply revenue figures for 2005 through 2007.
To qualify to win, companies either had to have headquarters in the Greater Reading area, and not limited to Berks County, but not too far away. Those not based in Berks County had to be members of the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
Nominees were required to submit revenue information for each of the three years, validated either by financial statements or tax returns or, for publicly held companies, Securities and Exchange Commission filings.
Results were determined by using a formula that combines two measures of revenue growth — dollar and percentage — for each of the three years, with greater weight placed on the most recent year.
