Gateway Ticketing Systems to Demonstrate RFID Solution at Dubai Entertainment, Amusement and Leisure Tradeshow
Boyertown, PA – (April, 2009) Gateway Ticketing Systems, Inc. will be showing its Galaxy Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system in its sixth year of exhibiting at the Dubai Entertainment, Amusement and Leisure (DEAL) Tradeshow In Dubai, UAE, April 26-28.
The latest technology in leisure and amusement software applications, Gateway’s RFID System offers guests a convenient and cashless method for making purchases and gaining access to the park. Guests can purchase and charge a wristband at any Point of Sale (POS) station in the park, use it for purchases of items like food, beverages and souvenirs, and then recharge the wristband when the balance is depleted. For facilities that use lockers, locker purchases and access are also managed through the RFID wristband. A locker can be purchased at a POS and the wristbands then track locker usage.
Gateway’s RFID System is currently being used by six major attractions in the Middle East. “Gateway has a strong presence in the Middle Eastern region through a partnership with our reseller there, Prologic First,” said Michael Turner, Gateway’s Director of International Business Development. “This is one of the primary reasons why customers in that region choose to go with Gateway: local support is often one of the main criteria for selection,” he said.
The system’s ease-of-use, speed, and convenience are key advantages for guests, creating shorter lines and faster transactions at all POS locations. Attractions benefit from increased customer spending and revenue, as well as improved operational efficiencies.
Despite the challenging economy, Turner is confident that Gateway will come away with some new business after the show. He said, “I’m looking forward to another good show this year. While the current economic climate has postponed several projects, there are still some that are moving forward. Gateway is positioned to capitalize on these projects, as well as those that resume once the economy starts to recover.”
The three-day DEAL show will attract buyers in the entertainment and amusement industries from the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, East and West Africa and countries from the Commonwealth of Independent States (the former Soviet Republic).
DEAL 2009, the 15th edition of this trade event, encompasses three full halls at the prestigious Dubai World Trade Centre. More than 200 leading companies from 32 countries will be showcasing the latest trends in the Industry.
