Gateway Ticketing Systems Provides Point of Sale and Retail Solution for Middle East’s First Indoor/Outdoor Water Park

Boyertown, PA – (April, 2009) Gateway Ticketing Systems recently completed the installation of a Point of Sale ticketing and retail solution at Wahoo! Waterpark in Bahrain. Galaxy Point of Sale and the industry-leading Counterpoint inventory management solution will be implemented at the new park.

The largest temperature-controlled aqua park in the region, Wahoo! Waterpark is a 15,000 square meter indoor/outdoor aqua-park located in the heart of Bahrain's capital, Manama. The park was developed by Bahrain development company, Majid Al Futtaim Group, known for their popular attraction, Ski Dubai.

In the first phase of implementation, the Galaxy Point of Sale and Counterpoint solutions have been installed in the retail outlets. Ticketing and access control with RFID wristbands and electronic lockers will be installed and implemented by the first week of June. The park opens its doors to guests in mid-June.

A complete ticketing solution provider, Gateway offers Wahoo! the ability to provide cashless transactions to its guests with its RFID solution. Gateway’s RFID System, which can be used for admission as well as lockers and stored value, offers guests a convenient method to make purchases without having to use a wallet.

Wahoo! Waterpark chose Prologic First Dubai, Gateway Ticketing Systems’ reseller for the Middle East, as the system integrator responsible for managing the project. Aruna Jagtiani, Manager of Sales and Marketing at Prologic First Dubai, described why it was an easy decision for Wahoo! Waterpark to go with Prologic First and Gateway. “We already provide the top-level support for four water parks in this region, namely Wild Wadi, Dreamland Aqua Park, Cleopark Egypt and Atlantis. This is an indication of our ability to successfully handle projects such as these.”

“Gateway’s RFID System will allow guests to rent lockers using their pre-charged wristband and access it as many times as required during their stay. They can buy food, drink and retail items inside the park and easily add credit to the wristbands. At the end of the day they’re refunded any remaining credit,” said Jagtiani.
