Gateway Ticketing Systems’ 2004 Users Group Meeting A Success

Boyertown, PA – (March 24th, 2004) From Wednesday March 10th until Saturday March 13th Gateway Ticketing Systems held it’s 12th annual User’s Group Meeting (UGM) in Seattle Washington. The Experience Music Project, a customer of Gateway Ticketing since June 2000, hosted the three days of new product and feature review, customer presentations and instructional sessions.

The annual event is focused towards Gateway Ticketing Systems’ customers, whose primary business is parks and attractions, including theme and water parks, museums, zoos, aquariums and other venues where quality admission control is essential. During the event each year, Gateway Ticketing’s customers are provided with the latest information, news and instruction on their use of Galaxy Revenue Management & Admission Control – Gateway Ticketing’s flagship product.

This year’s event covered the release of Gateway Ticketing’s new Galaxy 2 and it’s many enhancements. From it’s more visually appealing ‘XP’ style interface to Unified POS Device Support, offering effortless connection and configuration of most POS peripheral devices, Galaxy 2 seemed to be a major hit. “Our customers were paying close attention to the new features of Galaxy 2,” mentioned Scott Trievel, Product Manager at Gateway Ticketing Systems. Trievel finished, “It appeared that the new manager interfaces in Galaxy 2 were of particular interest to most everyone. These ‘managers’ allow users to more easily configure devices and manage orders and events, and they seemed to go over big.”

Trievel was responsible for conducting an overview of Gateway Ticketing’s quality assurance regimen, as it relates to Galaxy 2, for the attendees. Covering the testing methods used in the past, present and future, Trievel reviewed everything from the quality QA staff at Gateway Ticketing down to a summary on the automated testing scripts used for intensive regression testing throughout Gateway Ticketing’s product line.

Also presenting at this year’s UGM was Kevin Wieand, Account Rep for Gateway Ticketing, who reviewed the new Galaxy 2 real-time interface to Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge software for non-profit venues. In addition, Blackbaud’s Director of Corporate Development, Bob Hughes discussed their software and how it relates to Galaxy 2. Raiser’s Edge is most widely used by museums and zoos, which covers two of Gateway Ticketing’s primary customer groups.

After his presentation Wieand said, “The addition of a real-time connection to Raiser’s Edge is a major plus on the scorecard for Gateway Ticketing Systems and our non-profit customers worldwide.” According to Wieand, the real-time interface to Blackbaud’s software will allow Gateway Ticketing’s non-profit customers to more easily send new, renewed and upgraded pass sales to Raiser’s Edge without the encumbrance of an additional interface.

During the event, site tours were given to local venues operated by some of Gateway Ticketing’s customers in and around the Seattle area. Tours included a visit to the Space Needle, The Museum of Glass and The Washington State History Museum. Michael Turner, Director of Sales & Marketing for Gateway Ticketing Systems added, “Many portions of this year’s UGM made it an outstanding meeting. The site tours were certainly no exception.” Turner concluded, “This year’s get together was informative, inspirational and seemed to be enjoyed by all in attendance.”

Gateway Ticketing has announced that the location of the 2005 User’s Group Meeting will be Hersheypark in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The dates for that event are forthcoming.
