Hersheypark Opens 2004 Season with Galaxy 2 from Gateway Ticketing Systems

Boyertown, PA - (May 2004) Recently Hersheypark opened their season with the latest version of Gateway Ticketing Systems revenue management and admission control software, Galaxy 2.

Hersheypark, in nearby Hershey Pennsylvania, has been a Gateway Ticketing Systems customer since 1996, having initially deployed one of Galaxy's predecessors, the AX1180 Ticketing System. "The AX1180 product has worked well for Hersheypark all these years," says Michael Andre, President & CEO of Gateway Ticketing. "Prior to this season, Hersheypark had decided to move to resort-wide gift cards. This decision meant upgrading to our Galaxy 2 product, which readily handles these types of transactions, and more." Andre concluded, "In addition, Gateway Ticketing Systems is Paymentech certified so the transition was pretty seamless."

Paymentech, a nationwide leader in credit card processing solutions, handles all of Hersheypark's credit card transactions via a high-speed frame relay connection. In addition, Paymentech, in conjunction with Gateway's Galaxy 2 software, will now handle Hersheypark's gift cards using Paymentech's FlexCache Stored Value Program.
