Boyertown, PA - (June, 2004) Gateway Ticketing Systems recently released version 3.70.00 of their TX3280 Ticketing System. The TX3280 system provides a comprehensive ticketing and information system for the intercity bus industry, mass transit, passenger rail and ferry, and airport shuttle services. It's features ticketing, schedule quotation, and package express. With the release of version 3.70.00, Gateway improved and enhanced the system based upon requests for feature upgrades that had been presented by customers using the system.
One new feature implemented allows the NetBIOS table name to be defined. When using the NetBIOS network option in TX3280, systems on the same physical network need a unique identifier which is stored in a NetBIOS table. This is done to identify information designated to come from and go to a system. An analogy to this is a home mailing address. It is unique to family who lives there. If it were not unique, the family would receive mail for anyone else with the same address even though the mail was not meant for them. When using the NetBIOS protocol, the unique identifier is generated by the TX3280 system by prefixing the node number with GTS_NODE. For example, “node 20” would have the unique identifier “GTS_NODE_20”.
With different companies sharing their networks, it has become necessary to allow the user to define the prefix for the NetBIOS table. This upgrade feature allows multiple companies to share a network with improved security.
A second enhancement feature of the release allows for export return schedules in SchedWeb. Prior to this release, SchedWeb only exported the outbound routes of a schedule. With the upgrade, SchedWeb now exports both outbound and inbound schedules. This new feature now allows both inbound and outbound trips to be available for eCommerce solutions.
In addition to these enhancements, 1 modification was made in the release to upgrade the transaction number roll over sequence. In the previous release, if the system transaction number rolled over from 999,999 to 1 and the shift that occurred during the rollover was not closed (for example, the agent logged off, but did not cashout), a restart of this shift would always set the transaction number to 0. In version 3.70.00 the rollover will go from 999,999 to 1 and open shifts will update correctly when restarted.
