Boyertown, PA - (July, 2004) uShaka Marine World in Durban South Africa opened in early May of this year utilizing Gateway Ticketing Systems' Galaxy 2 admission control and revenue management system. After almost two months in service, Gateway Ticketing Systems' solution is rock solid, and the perfect answer for the new venue's ticketing and revenue management.
The newly designed park contains nearly 40 acres of fun including an oceanarium, a large dolphin stadium, a penguin rookery and much more. With over 17,000 cubic meters of water, uShaka is the fifth largest aquarium in the world and is home to the largest selection of sharks in the southern hemisphere. In addition, uShaka hosts one of the largest water slides in the world, plus a myriad of other waterpark rides and adventures. Gateway Ticketing Systems installed solutions to handle quite a few of uShaka's ticketing and POS needs including multiple front gate POS ticketing stations and wireless handheld admission control scanners, membership and season pass stations to the handle the uShaka Super Pass, Boca ticket printers, admission control hardware, backend database servers and more.

"The onsite training for uShaka went very well. The staff seemed very excited to learn the new system, and gave it their full attention from the start," said Vendrell.
