Fire Island Ferries pleased with Gateway Ticketing Systems - upgrades to Galaxy 2

Boyertown, PA – (September, 2004) Fire Island Ferries, Inc. of Bay Shore, New York, has chosen to continue its long standing relationship with Gateway Ticketing Systems and upgrade to the company’s latest admission control and revenue management system, Galaxy 2 - released earlier this year.

A total of nine licenses were installed for eight point of sale stations, three of which are in a remote location, and one back office system. Features included touch screen monitors, ticketing point of sale, and consolidated reporting. “The upgrade to Galaxy was a breeze and implementation was painless with little or no data conversion involved in the process,” says Ed Schlauch of Fire Island Ferries, Inc.

Galaxy 2 includes over 16 new enhancements, plus a newly designed - more visually appealing 'XP' style interface. Further, Galaxy 2's new Unified POS Device support ensures effortless connection and configuration of most all POS and ticketing peripheral hardware. Ticket and receipt printers, scanners, customer displays and more are now truly plug and play, resulting in far less installation and configuration time for external hardware.
