Cypress Gardens Adventure Park Reopens With Gateway Ticketing Systems’ Galaxy

Boyertown, PA – (September, 2005) Cypress Gardens Adventure Park, Winterhaven, FL, reopened its doors with Gateway Ticketing Systems’ Galaxy admission control and revenue management solution.

After closing its doors in 2003, the park was purchased by Kent Buescher, owner of Wild Adventures in Valdosta, Georgia, another Gateway Ticketing Systems customer. The new ownership completed major park renovations, which included damage repair from three hurricanes in 2004, and were able to open the park for the 2005 season.

Additional Galaxy modules installed at Cypress Gardens included Photo Pass, Order Entry, Access Control (turnstiles and wireless handheld scanners) and Resource Management. Cypress Gardens will also be expanding sales channels to online ticketing through Gateway Ticketing Systems’ eGalaxy module.

Brian MacDonald, Lead Project Manager at Gateway Ticketing Systems stated, “This project was unique in the fact that we tied two sites together over a T1 connection. Both Cypress Gardens or Wild Adventures were able to communicate to a remote SQL Server and scan passes successfully whether the pass was sold at Cypress Gardens or Wild Adventures.”
